All of Us Are Dead: Is This How Cheong-San Comes Back?

Posted: 22 Jun 2022 09:55 AM PDT

All of Us Are Dead is a South Korean series that was very successful on the streaming channel giant Netflix. Released last January, the 12-episode series has already had a sizable fan base around the world. This can happen because this zombie apocalypse-themed series feels more interesting. Where the main plot tells the story of high school students who are trapped in their school, when the Jonas virus outbreak spreads and turns people into zombies.

As with zombie shows in general, not many characters can survive until the end. And the most surprising thing is when the main character Lee Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young) makes a heroic sacrifice to save his friends. Interestingly, on June 6, Netflix announced that the series All of Us Are Dead will get a second season. Where actor Chan-young is still involved as the main character. Does that mean the character he plays is still alive? So how can Cheong-san survive the events that have happened to him?

Cheong-san Died As A Human

Since the zombie outbreak first spread at Hyosan High School, Cheong-san is one of the characters who has been able to go through many dangerous moments. However, at the end of episode 11, he had to be infected with the Jonas virus after the antagonist Gwi-nam (Yoo In-soo) bit him. In order to pave the way for his friends at the construction site, he ends up sacrificing himself by luring the zombies to chase him. Thanks to his efforts, his friends were finally able to escape to the mountains, before the South Korean military bombed Hyosan City to stop the zombies from spreading.

In the final scene, Cheong-san is seen dropping himself while pulling Gwi-nam. He seems to have done this on purpose to ensure that this time Gwi-nam, who is a half zombie aka hambie, really dies. And at the end, we can see Cheong-san’s body among the bodies of the zombies that burned after being hit by an explosion. Remembering the series All of Us Are Dead doesn’t show Cheong-san’s transformation into a zombie, at this point it’s safe to conclude that at least the fan-favorite character died while still a human.

Reborn as a Hambie

In the last episode, when On-jo (Park Ji-hu), Su-hyeok (Lomon), along with others went to Hyosan High School and reunited with Nam-ra (Cho Yi-Hyun). The class president who has now become a hambie said that he didn’t feel Cheon-san’s presence anywhere at all. Hearing this statement, On-jo couldn’t help but accept the fact that his love interest had died. Even so, that doesn’t mean Cheon-san has completely disappeared, because there is a possibility that he will come back to life after the Jonas virus turns him into a hambie like Nam-ra.

This theory could have happened because when Cheong-san fell, above him was Gwi-nam’s body and underneath there were more zombie bodies. So he may be crushed by many corpses which in the end protect him from the explosion of military bombs. At this point maybe he really died as a human, and came back to life as a hambie as the situation at the construction site gradually recovered. If this theory is true, it means that later Cheong-san will return in season 2 as a hambie with some scars that still linger. Where it will make him look more manly.

At the end of episode 12 itself, there are actually things that can support this theory. When Nam-ra was about to jump off the roof of Hyosan High, she had previously said that there are still a lot of hambies out there. Maybe one of them is Cheong-san whose existence is now only detected as a hambie by Nam-ra. What do you think geeks? Will Cheong-san reappear in season 2 as a hambie? Only time can answer that. Since both of them are currently still being produced, we’ll just have to wait for further news developments, geeks.

Thor 4 Introduces New Avengers Members?

Posted: 22 Jun 2022 09:47 AM PDT

Only two weeks left Marvel Studios will soon release a Thor 4 solo film entitled Thor: Love & Thunder. The fans themselves are increasingly impatient to see the action of the gods in the film later. In addition to the protagonist Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth), the film by director Taika Waititi will also feature the God of Olympus Zeus (Russel Crowe). Where he seems to be playing the role of one of the antagonists in the film, until Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) appears.

The presence of Zeus itself has indirectly triggered various fan speculations. Especially because he has a relationship with one of the important demigods in Marvel Comics history, namely Hercules. In the comics, Hercules is one of the superheroes who eventually became an important member of the Avengers. Does that mean, after a long time, Marvel will finally introduce Hercules in the MCU. Who exactly is this demigod and what are the chances of Hercules appearing in the movie Thor 4? Without further ado, let’s get down to the theory, geeks.

Thor’s best friend from the Avengers

Herakles alias Hercules Panhellenios was the son of Zeus who was born to a human mother named Alcmena in ancient Greece. Appears for the first time in comics Young Allies (1945), the story of Hercules was further explored in comics Journey into Mystery Annual (1965) by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. In his youth, Hercules had proven that he was superior to the average human. Where he has divine abilities that include super physical strength, from stamina to immunity. In addition, because there is the blood of Zeus in his body, Hercules is also famous for having immortality.

With this immortality, he can continue to live his life in various ages, until finally arriving in modern times and joining the Avengers. Where he realized that there was a god from another mythology who had previously joined the Avengers, namely Thor. The beginning of Hercules joining the Avengers itself occurred in the comics Avengers (1986), precisely when the supervillain team Master of Evils attacked the Avenger Mansion and put him in a coma for the first time. It was at this point that Hercules finally realized that the threat to Earth was far more dangerous than the ancient Greeks.

After awakening from his coma, Hercules became an insecure figure. Luckily, he and Thor ended up going on an adventure together into space to defeat the High Evolutionary. From then on he finally returned to being the usual arrogant and also very passionate person. In addition to being one of Thor’s closest friends, Hercules is also quite often Thor’s rival in terms of strength and status as a god. Although they are often seen fighting each other, but interestingly the result of their battle is always a draw and there is never a winner.

The appearance of Hercules in the MCU

The reason why Hercules made enough sense to appear in the MCU is that his father, Zeus, will be an important character in the Thor: Love & Thunder. After meeting and maybe even fighting Thor in the film later, it looks like Zeus himself will be used as evidence of Gorr’s ferocity. Because Gorr is the main villain whose goal is to eradicate all the gods he meets. With this background, Hercules will later have the motivation to come to the surface. Where he might have initially thought that Thor was the one who had killed Zeus.

If this theory is true, it is not impossible that Hercules and Thor will fight like they usually do in the comics. Until finally Thor was able to explain that the figure who had killed Zeus was none other than Gorr. After knowing the truth, Hercules could have formed an alliance of gods with Thor, Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman), and King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), to fight Gorr. If it’s true that Gorr can kill Zeus, that means it’s quite reasonable why in the end they will work together to defeat the figure of a very strong villain.

The appearance of Hercules in Thor 4will not only affect the story of Zeuz and Gorr the God Butcher, but also elevate his status as a superhero that fans have long anticipated.. If everything goes well, it’s not impossible that Hercules will return again as a member of the Avengers in the future of the MCU. What do you guys think, geeks, is this the right time for Hercules to appear in the MCU? We’ll just have to wait for the answer during the movie Thor 4 airs on July 8 tomorrow.

The geopolitical situation is reflected in the Korean version of the series “Money Heist”

Posted: 22 Jun 2022 09:21 AM PDT

Jakarta (Shirogadget) – The director of “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” said on Wednesday that the adaptation series will feature its own peculiarities by combining the geopolitical situation on the Korean Peninsula.

"I watched the Spanish version in 2018 and I was impressed by the colorful characters and fantastic storyline. I think the intensity and freshness will remain even in different times and spaces. So I changed it to a Korean version set in Korea,” director Kim Hong-sun said during a press conference on Wednesday in Seoul, South Korea, quoted by Yonhap.

"Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economy Area" is available on Netflix on Friday (24/6). The series is an adaptation based on the original Spanish series of the same name. The Spanish version of "Money Heist" became one of the most successful non-English TV series on Netflix.

The Korean version of "Money Heist" is set on the Korean Peninsula, where the two regions form joint economic area (JEA) or shared economic area as the first step towards unification. A group of bank robbers at JEA hail from South and North Korea. In this series, police from both Koreas will join hands to stop them.

The director said he wanted to portray inter-Korean relations in a way that appeals to global audiences involving fictional characters similar to the original.

"I hope that people around the world are curious about stories involving South and North Korea. I would also like to present the current inter-Korean situation as it is, and make some hopeful suggestions for dealing with such an extraordinary situation,” said the director.

The actors involved also praised the originality of the Korean version of "Money Heist." Actor Yoo Ji-tae, who plays the Professor or the mastermind behind the robbery, said he felt confident that the creative element of "Money Heist" could be applied in all countries.

"This is well made with the situation on the Korean Peninsula along with the charm and intelligence of the Korean people," said Yoo.

In the original series, the robbers wore Salvador Dali masks as a symbol of resistance and national pride in the country. While the Korean version of the robber team wore traditional Korean masks “Hahoetal”.

The "Hahoetal" masks feature smiling faces, reflecting the lives of the common people and the society they live in based on satire on traditional Korean theater.

"The mask in Korea’s ‘Money Heist’ is an important element because it has a satirical and critical message towards people who are privileged. When the whole cast is wearing masks, it’s amazing,” said “Squid Game” star Park Hae-soo, who plays Berlin.

Who is Clan Destin in Series Ms. Marvels?

Posted: 22 Jun 2022 03:54 AM PDT

this wednesday Ms. Marvel has aired its third episode which finally reveals who the supervillain in the series is. In addition to the Damage Control seen in episode 2, it was finally revealed that there was another threat hunting Kamala (Iman Vellani). They were none other than the group that fans had been rumored to for a long time, namely Clan Destine. Surprisingly, episode 3 itself finally reveals that Kamran and his mother were part of the group for a long time. So, who exactly is Clan Destine, and why is this group of MCU supervillains so dangerous to Ms Marvel?

The Immortal Jin Race in the Marvel Universe

In Marvel Comics itself, Clan Destine or as ‘ClanDestine’ is written is a super family that has been living in secret in the Marvel Universe. Appears for the first time in comics Marvel Comics Presents #158 (1994) by Alan Davis, Clan Destine is a family whose story spans from the 12th century. Where they have given birth to many family branches and established a very large family tree. Much like the Eternals, Inhumans, and Mutants, as the strongest race in the Marvel Universe. Their story begins with a dream of a man named Adam Destine in 1168.

Adam himself was originally an ordinary man from the Saxon village, Ravenscroft, who dreamed of seeing a mysterious woman. Where the woman gives him super powers, including immunity and immortality. Adam believed that the woman he saw in his dream was a Djinn or genie confined in a crystal. After releasing the Djinn who turned out to be named Elalyth, they finally fell in love with each other and gave birth to many offspring called Clan Destine. In short, Clan Destine is a family of immortal genies that exists in the Marvel Universe.

From appearing as superheroes to supervillains, there are so many members of the Destine Clan that Marvel has talked about. In addition to immortal, some of them also have telepathic abilities, healing, and also super intelligence. Most of them have also dealt with the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Wolverine, and other famous characters. However, it turns out that none of the Destine Clan members have ever met Kamala aka Ms Marvel, both as enemies and friends. And the Ms Marvel series in the MCU will finally bring that up.

Wanting the Power of Ms. Marvel

After being a mystery since his appearance at the end of episode 2, finally Kamran’s mother, Najma, explains who she is to Kamala. Najma confesses that she is a friend of her great-grandmother, Aisha, who at the time the British colonized India was in search of the mysterious bracelet currently in Kamala’s hands. In this snippet of the scene, Najma finally reveals that in fact she and Aisha are actually from the Noor (light) Dimension. And they are Clan Destine, an immortal Djinn nation that takes references from ClanDestine in Marvel Comics.

They have been exiled in the human world and are currently looking for a way to return to their dimension. And based on what Najma and the rest of the Destine Clan believe, Kamala and her bracelet are the keys to opening the gates to the Noor Dimension. In the end we get to see how ambitious Najma and Clan Destine are. They have the heart to attack Amir’s marriage in order to force Kamala to use her powers for them.

As far as seen until episode 3 ends, it seems that besides being immortal, Clan Destine also has physical strength that is stronger than humans in general. And they also have weapons that are strong enough to match the power of Kamala’s crystal. However, the weapon is not strong enough to fight Damage Control which has more sophisticated weaponry. Where agents Sadie Deever and Damage Control finally caught them. At the same time Kamala was finally able to escape and return to her home.

On the other hand, it seems that the reason is still difficult for us to believe. Because it’s also possible that Najma and Clan Destine actually want to open the gate to the Noor Dimension so that Djinn can enter Earth and control it. What do you think? We look forward to continuing the story of Kamala and Clan Destine in Ms. The next Marvel episode will air next Wednesday.
