Posted: 02 Jul 2022 02:26 AM PDT The scammers may be trying to score jobs at IT companies in order to access customer or financial data, corporate IT databases and/or proprietary information, the FBI says. By Michael Kan Scammers have been exploiting deepfake technology to impersonate job candidates during interviews for remote positions, according to the FBI. The agency has recently seen an increase in the number of complaints about the scam, the FBI said in a public advisory on June 30. Fraudsters have been using both deepfakes and personal identifying information stolen from victims to dupe employers into hiring them for remote jobs. Deepfakes involve using AI-powered programs to create realistic but phony media of a person. In the video realm, the technology can be used to swap in a celebrity’s face onto someone else’s body. On the audio front, the programs can clone a person’s voice, which can then be manipulated to say whatever you’d like. The technology is already being used in YouTube videos to entertaining effect. However, the FBI’s advisory shows deepfakes are also fueling identity theft schemes. "Complaints report the use of voice spoofing, or potentially voice deepfakes, during online interviews of the potential applicants," the FBI says. The scammers have been using the technology to apply for remote or work-from-home jobs from IT companies. The FBI didn’t clearly state what the scammers’ end goal. But the agency noted, "some reported positions include access to customer PII (personal identifying information), financial data, corporate IT databases and/or proprietary information." Such info could help scammers steal valuable details from companies and commit other identity fraud schemes. But in some good news, the FBI says there’s a way employers can detect the deepfakery. To secure the jobs, scammers have been participating in video interviews with prospective employers. However, the FBI noted that the AI-based technology can still show flaws when the scammer is speaking. "The actions and lip movement of the person seen interviewed on-camera do not completely coordinate with the audio of the person speaking," the agency said. "At times, actions such as coughing, sneezing, or other auditory actions are not aligned with what is presented visually." |
How to Solve Footer Not Printing (Cut off) When Print Posted: 02 Jul 2022 01:46 AM PDT Printing is an activity that is already familiar today. In the past, this activity was often done in internet cafes because not many people had printers. Not only that, we also don’t know how to print it? It’s different now, most people already have a personal printer in their home and of course they already know how to operate it. Printing is not a difficult thing. However, there are still problems that often occur, one of which is that the footer does not print when printing. Problems like this really make us confused, especially for those who don’t really understand about printers. Then, how to deal with the footer not printing when printing? Many may ask, “Why isn’t the footer printed when printing?”, “Why is the footer cut off when printing?”, and other similar questions. Actually, this problem is not a complicated problem. But it will really interfere with our work, especially when we are required to print a lot of pages, all of which use the footer. The main cause of the footer not printing when printing is not syncing the printer settings with Microsoft Office applications. Printer settings must also be adjusted so that the print results are the same as what is set in Microsoft Word. In essence, we just need change paper size printer settings according to paper size in Microsoft Office applications. Here’s how to print so the footer doesn’t get cut off:
How, now the footer is not cut off, right? It can be concluded that this problem is only caused by the printer paper settings that do not match the paper size in Microsoft Office. So, when you want to print a worksheet, it’s a good idea to set the paper size in Word first. This is so that the size selected in the application matches that of the printer. Support Office also provides a way to solve this problem. They recommend setting the page border before printing the document.
If it still doesn’t work, it’s possible that the problem lies in the margins. My suggestion, please lower the margin size as an experiment. How, click the menu Layout > Margins > Custom Margins then fill in the margins you want. Changing margins is part of learning Microsoft Word. If the problem is in the margins, then by setting the right margins, this footer not printing problem will be resolved. Actually it’s simple, above I’ve alluded to a little. So, when you want to print, please check the paper size in Microsoft settings. In addition, you also have to check the paper size in the printer, whether it is appropriate or not. Care is also required when loading paper into the printer. I once printed on a photocopy, without realizing that the printer was using opaque paper, not HVS. So, you really have to be careful, because it’s a shame that some of the paper goes to waste. Indeed, we cannot deny that printer-related problems are not the only one. In addition to the clipped footer, there are other problems that often occur with printers, namely Error 5b00 on Canon IP2770. Maybe this is the only article that I can convey about how to solve the footer not printing when printing. Hopefully this article can be useful and add insight to all of us.
